Dark Chocolate and Pecan Cookies

This past sunday, after my boy had been begging me to bake cookies for a couple of weeks, i decided it was time. I needed to bring dessert to sunday dinner at my father in law's and cookies and ice cream sounded perfect on a hot day!
When making cookies i stick to the "original Nestle Toll House" recipe that you find on the back of the chocolate chip package, but i prefer using the dark chocolate Ghirardelli for taste.

2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups chocolate chips ( Guirardelli dark chocolate is my choice)
1 cup chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 375F.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl. Beat butter, both sugars and vanilla in electric mixer until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate and pecans.

Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes, and transfer to wire racks for final cooling (about 5 minutes).
