Grilled Steelhead Trout with Passion Fruit Sauce

This dish has been a favorite of mine, since it's very popular in Brasil, where passion fruit is consumed on a daily basis and fish is in the dinner table a few times a week, fresh off the boat. 
The 2 flavors work perfectly together and i serve with jasmine rice cooked with a little garlic and lemon zest. And of course salmon is a great choice for this dish also.

4 - 1/3 lb steelhead fillets
salt and pepper to taste
1 lemon, juiced
olive oil spray

passion fruit sauce:
1 small onion, chopped
4 tablespoons butter, divided
1 cup passion fruit pulp (found in the frozen section made by goya)
1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
1 tablespoon honey
zest of 1 lemon
1 teaspoon sugar
salt and pepper to taste

In a small saucepan heat 1 tablespoon of butter. Add onion and cook for 5 minutes, add parsley, honey, lemon zest, sugar and cook for 10 minutes on medium high until reduced by half. Add 3 tablespoons of butter and season to taste.
Season trout with salt, pepper and lemon juice.
Heat a grill pan. Spray with olive oil. Cook trout for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes a side, flipping only once.
Serve with jasmine rice and passion fruit sauce.
